My grandfather was born in Cinquefrondi in province of Reggio Calabria on December 31, 1869.
Between the late 1800s and early 1900s, began [A Cinquefrondi] the construction of large public works: the imposing complex of the elementary school "Francesco Della Scala" to the Hall of Public Offices, the District Court directed the town, now home to the Municipal Gallery, the Judicial Prison, the sports field to the railway line Cinquefrondi that still connects with the other countries of the plain, from the Town Park to the great works for incalanamento of underground water courses and the renewal of the old sewer system, until the entire construction of new roads, such as Memorial Avenue and Via Regina Elena.
Cinquefrondi gave birth to important public figures who have admirably distinct in different fields of human knowledge. Among these must surely remember, in the religious field: One by Nicholas Cinquefrondi, lay dead in 1570 in the odor of sanctity, Fra Giovanni da Cinquefrondi, Jesuit Salvatore Verrone, an expert on volcanology and author of a History of Mount Vesuvius in 1631, the theologian and religious Bernardo Condo, the theologian and philosopher Francesco Saverio Panetta, author of a collection of sermons and eulogies on "The mystical montage" (1859), Archpriest Francesco Maria Ascone. In the field of music should be mentioned, among others: D. Filippo Zerbi, the chaplain Luigi Ferrari and Master Charles Creazzo. Among the class of doctors: the luminary Vincent Mammola. Among the political figures: Luigi dei Marchesi Aiossa, minister during the reign of Ferdinand II of Bourbon and the mayor Francesco Della Scala. Among the brave soldiers Francesco Pepe. Among the class of writers: the Latin D. Giacomo Ferrari, a Jesuit, and the poet and historian Pasquale Creazzo.
